There is a particular kind of sadness that doesn’t make sense.
It doesn’t come with a reason.
It doesn’t fit a timeline.
It can show up in the middle of a good day, after something beautiful, even when nothing is wrong.
And still, it pulls you inward.

Most people try to talk themselves out of it.
They list the good things in their lives.
They try to trace the feeling back to a cause.
They try to convince themselves they have no reason to feel the way they do.

But some feelings don’t need a reason.
They need space.

The pressure to explain makes sadness heavier.

When you’re sad, people often ask what’s wrong.
It’s well-meaning, but it creates pressure.
Pressure to have an answer.
Pressure to make sense.
Pressure to be clear about something that often isn’t.

But sadness isn’t always logical.
It isn’t always connected to one moment or event.
Sometimes it’s just the body slowing down.
The nervous system coming out of overdrive.
The release of something that was held for too long.

When we try to explain sadness too quickly, we move away from it.
We enter thought.
We make stories.
And in that process, we lose touch with the very thing sadness was trying to show us.

Meditation for feeling sad begins in the body, not the story.

Undo offers a kind of stillness that doesn’t look for meaning.
It isn’t passive.
It isn’t trying to make you feel better.
It simply creates the conditions where what’s already inside you can be felt without interruption.

That’s what meditation for feeling sad looks like here.
You sit.
You stop looking for the cause.
You let the sadness be there without adding anything on top.
No fixing.
No analyzing.
No trying to make it smaller.

You might feel it in your throat, in your eyes, in the weight of your chest.
Wherever it lives in your body, that’s where you stay.
Not to change it.
Just to feel it.

Sadness that is allowed to be felt begins to move.

Not dramatically.
Not instantly.
But subtly, like fog lifting.

You don’t have to be okay for this to work.

Some days, you won’t feel better after sitting.
That’s not failure.
That’s honesty.
You’re not trying to force a result.
You’re making contact with what is actually happening.

Undo doesn’t offer a way out of your sadness.
It offers a way in.
And that changes everything.
Because once you stop trying to get rid of it, sadness becomes something else.
It becomes livable.
Bearable.
It softens.

You don’t need the right mindset.
You don’t need to reframe your thoughts.
You don’t even need to know where the sadness came from.
You only need to feel where it is now.

Stillness makes room for what you don’t understand yet.

There are things your body knows long before your thoughts catch up.
There are stories stored in your chest, your spine, your skin that don’t have words yet.

You don’t need to name them.
You don’t need to understand them.
You just need to stop long enough for your body to tell you the truth in its own way.

Sadness often speaks in sensation.
In slowness.
In stillness.
The more you listen, the more you realize it’s not trying to hurt you.
It’s trying to speak to you.

Undo gives you the space to listen.

Let sadness take up space.

You are allowed to feel sad.
Even if nothing is wrong.
Even if you can’t explain it.
Even if it’s been there a long time.

Meditation for feeling sad doesn’t mean turning sadness into something else.
It means finally letting it be what it is, so your body doesn’t have to hold it alone anymore.

You don’t need permission.
But if it helps to hear it: you have it.
You are allowed to be sad without explaining it.

Healing isn’t far away.
And it isn’t something you earn.
It’s right here, in the quiet, physical contact with your body.
The part of you that never stopped feeling, even when the rest of you pulled away.

But most of us miss this.
We move fast.
We aim to feel better.
We try to fix what we haven’t even fully felt.
Especially when the feeling is dull, blank, or uncomfortable.
We’re trained to analyse, interpret, improve.

But real healing begins before understanding.
It begins with sensation.
It begins with the part of you you’ve been avoiding.

Feeling Numb? That’s Not a Problem. That’s the Beginning.

If all you feel is blankness, an absence, a quiet deadness that’s not something to escape.
That’s your way in.

Numbness is a shape your body makes when it’s tired of being pushed.
It’s not the lack of feeling.
It’s a very specific sensation.
One that carries the weight of years you had to hold it all together.

Don’t try to break through it.
Don’t try to wake it up.
Just stay.
Feel that.
Let that be the place you begin.

Your Body Doesn’t Need You to Understand. It Needs You to Notice.

Noticing the feeling of sound.
Not its meaning, but its texture in the ears.

Noticing the experience of seeing.
Not what you see, but what it feels like to look out.

Noticing the contact of air on your skin, the pull of gravity in your feet, the dull ache in your lower back.

This isn’t a practice.
It isn’t a method.
It’s your body, quietly remembering how to feel.

The Body Knows Where to Begin.

You don’t need to go searching.
The body will draw you toward the place that’s asking for contact a closing in the throat, a fog in the chest, a strain behind the eyes.
You don’t lead.
You follow.
With attention.
With honesty.
Without changing a thing.

Memory, Emotion, Pain: It’s All in the Flesh.

You don’t need to dig for the story.
You don’t need to remember the why.
It’s here.
Stored not in words, but in tension.
In dullness.
In tightness.
In heat.

And when you stay long enough, when you let it be without touching it, something shifts.
Not because you fixed it.
But because you finally didn’t.

No Belief. No Control. Just Contact.

You don’t need a belief system.
You don’t need to trust anything.
You don’t need to call it spiritual.

Just feel what’s here.
Not the idea of the feeling.
Not the meaning.

Just this breath.
Just this pressure.
Just this feeling.

You’re not becoming someone new.
You’re returning to someone quiet and familiar.
The one who never left.

This Is the Healing You Were Already Inside.

You don’t need a better you.
You don’t need to change your life.
You only need to stop stepping over it.

This isn’t a journey.
It’s a stop.
A full stop.

So the body can speak again.
So you can hear.

Let it be small.
Let it be quiet.
Let it be felt.

Want Support? Try the Undo App.

If something in you softened while reading this, and you want help staying in that softness, Undo can support that.
The app doesn’t guide you toward healing.
It helps you stop leaving.

No beliefs. No concepts.
Just chapters that gently point you back to what you already sense.

Undo is not something you do.
It’s a place you return to.

Introduction to Holistic Mental Health

Holistic mental health emphasises the connection between your body and your mental wellness. Unlike traditional mental health treatments that focus primarily on the psychological aspects, holistic approaches treat the individual as a whole—addressing physical and mental health.

As a result, holistic mental health treatments are gaining popularity as people seek more natural, balanced alternatives to conventional therapies.

What sets holistic mental health apart is its inclusive nature, offering a wide range of treatment options beyond conventional medication and psychotherapy. Rather than isolating symptoms or conditions, holistic practices address the root cause of the issue, looking at the full picture. Rather than just trying to ‘fix’ the symptom.

These natural mental health remedies, such as, natural meditation, and movement, enable individuals to explore mental wellness through different perspectives and activities.

What Is Holistic Mental Health?

Holistic mental health refers to a comprehensive treatment approach that considers the entire person, integrating body and mind to improve overall well-being.

While traditional therapies often focus exclusively on cognitive or behavioural aspects, holistic mental health practices aim to treat physical health as an integral part of mental health. This integrative mental health approach is rooted in the belief that psychological and physical health are inseparably linked.

Practitioners of holistic mental health consider a wide array of factors that may influence well-being, such as diet, exercise, sleep quality, and social interactions. By acknowledging the complex interplay between these elements, holistic treatments aim to create a balanced lifestyle that supports mental wellness on all fronts.

This often includes exploring alternative mental health treatments like meditation, which emphasise reconnecting with your body to activate your healing.

Common Holistic Mental Health Practices

Holistic mental health offers a diverse range of therapies that cater to the physical and mental aspects of a person. These practices provide alternatives to conventional treatments, fostering healing through a variety of engaging activities and interventions:

1. Recreational Therapy: Recreational therapy incorporates activities such as arts, crafts, and physical movement to stimulate emotional and mental healing. Engaging in these activities promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and enhances overall well-being. Crafting, for example, can serve as a form of meditative practice, allowing individuals to focus on tactile experiences and temporarily set aside anxious thoughts. Physical activities, such as nature walks or dancing, help release physical tension, positively impacting emotional states.

2. Equine Therapy: Equine therapy involves building a therapeutic relationship with horses, which can significantly influence emotional and mental health. By caring for and interacting with horses, individuals develop a sense of responsibility, trust, and empathy. This therapy is particularly effective for those struggling with trauma or social anxiety, as it encourages non-verbal communication and builds emotional awareness through interaction with the animal. Forces people to feel and not isolate – to think and consider others.

3. Physical Movement: Physical movement, such as working out, running, or swimming, is often overlooked as a form of therapy. However, the impact of physical health on mental well-being is profound. Regular exercise and body movement can significantly improve your mental health across various aspects. In fact, mental health has strong roots in physical well-being. When you engage in physical activities, you’re not just building muscle or improving cardiovascular health; you’re also working through accumulated physical tensions that can contribute to mental health issues like depression. By prioritising your physical health, you’re taking care of 80% of your mental health.

4. Natural Meditation: Meditation is often synonymous with mental and physical balance. This practice helps individuals reconnect with their natural sense of themselves as they sit physically still, allowing them to resolve pains, stresses, both mentally and physically, on a deeper bodily level. Unlike technique-based meditation that comes from the outside in, natural meditation originates from the inside out, enabling a deeper connection to one’s own body and feelings.

5. Diet and Nutrition: Diet plays a crucial role in mental health, as nutrient deficiencies or imbalances can directly affect brain function and mood. Integrating a diet rich in whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats, supports brain health and can alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. A balanced diet also promotes a stable mood and energy levels, contributing to overall mental wellness.

Benefits of Holistic Approaches to Mental Health

Holistic mental health practices offer several benefits that make them an attractive option for individuals seeking more than just symptom management:

Reduced Anxiety and Stress Relief:
Holistic therapies focus on restoring balance within the body and mind. Practices like natural meditation encourage you to go deeper than your anxious or stressful thoughts, into the physical sensations behind those thoughts. This then allows you to resolve those sensations on a deeper level, simply by sitting physically still with them without any judgement or criticism.

Enhanced Self-Esteem:
Many holistic practices, such as equine therapy or art therapy, foster self-expression and mastery of new skills, thereby boosting self-confidence. The act of engaging in creative or physical activities offers a sense of accomplishment and personal growth.

Improved Overall Well-Being:
Since holistic mental health considers the physical aspects of well-being, individuals often experience improvements in both their physical and emotional health. This integrated approach promotes a more active, fulfilling lifestyle and helps individuals feel more connected to themselves and their surroundings.

Balanced Lifestyle:Holistic treatments advocate for lifestyle changes that contribute to long-term wellness. This includes cultivating healthy eating habits, maintaining physical activity, and setting aside time for meditation and hobbies, all of which support sustained mental health.

How to Integrate Holistic Practices into Your Life

Integrating holistic mental health practices into your daily life doesn’t require major lifestyle changes. Here are a few actionable steps to help you get started:

Start with Small Changes:
Incorporate simple habits like taking short nature walks or engaging in a creative hobby. Even minor shifts can create a positive impact on your overall mood and stress levels.

Incorporate Daily Meditation:
Begin or end your day with meditation. Choosing a consistent time and place for daily meditation fosters a regular habit, enhancing its impact on your life. Meditating in the morning sets a clear tone for the day, helping you manage disturbances and maintain energy. Evening meditation releases daily stresses, potentially improving sleep quality. If insomnia strikes, consider meditating until drowsiness sets in. Regardless of when you meditate, consistency is crucial in being able to experience its transformative effects. Natural meditation allows you to understand your thoughts and separate feelings from emotions, which is crucial for self-healing.

Pay Attention to Your Diet:
Be aware of what you consume, as certain foods can either support or hinder mental health. Prioritise a diet that includes brain-boosting nutrients, such as omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium, and B-vitamins.

Engage in Regular Physical Activity:
Whether it’s a morning jog, a dance class, or a yoga session, find a physical activity that you enjoy and make it a part of your routine. Physical movement releases endorphins, which elevate mood and reduce feelings of anxiety.

Spend Time in Nature:Spending time outdoors can have a rejuvenating effect on your mental state. The simple act of being in nature helps reduce stress, lowers blood pressure, and enhances mood.

Holistic Mental Health vs. Traditional Approaches

While traditional mental health care focuses on treating symptoms through medication or psychotherapy, holistic mental health approaches target the underlying causes of distress. Traditional therapies often provide immediate symptom relief but may not address other areas of life that contribute to mental health conditions.

Holistic approaches, on the other hand, work to create a balanced lifestyle that can prevent the onset of mental health issues. For example, meditation offers a natural way to reduce anxiety, while a healthy diet can prevent nutrient deficiencies linked to mood disorders.

Success Stories and Case Studies

Transforming Mental and Physical Well-Being

A holistic mental health app was built on the life work and original discoveries of Undo’s co-founder and author, Matthew Zoltan, in holistic health and mind-body connection therapy.

In his clinic and meditation retreats, Matthew was achieving unprecedented results—what many would call “miraculous healings.” However, we weren’t sure what impact a mobile app using his healing approach would have.

The results have exceeded benchmark standards not only in the meditation app industry but also surpassed outcomes from psychology, pharmaceuticals, and other therapies—both in mobile apps and face-to-face treatment.

Addressing Core Mental Health Challenges

Users sought more than basic stress relief—they needed a deeper healing experience. This approach addresses:

Chronic and acute physical pain linked to emotional distress

Addictions, compulsive behaviors, and mental fatigue

Anxiety, stress, and disconnection from the body

Unique Healing Approach

This method stands out with its integrative approach, offering:

Educational Content – Teaching users how mental and physical health are deeply connected.

Guided Deep Body Meditations – Helping users release tension and build long-term emotional resilience.

Body Tension Translator – Identifying how emotional distress manifests physically and vice versa.

Results and Impact

This holistic approach has led to significant improvements in users’ lives, including:

Improved emotional clarity, confidence, and resilience

A 50% reduction in menstruation pain after one year of use

Resolution of chronic conditions without surgery

Reduced chronic neck and shoulder pain, allowing a return to normal activities

User Testimonials

Users describe this approach as “life-changing,” with benefits such as:

Greater emotional regulation and anger management

Strengthened relationships due to improved calmness

A newfound trust in the body’s ability to heal itself

One user shared, “My chronic back pain is finally manageable, and I feel more connected to myself than ever before.”

Survey Results

The measurable impact includes:

100% of users reporting improved mental well-being, lower stress, and better resilience

100% noting increased motivation, productivity, and confidence

100% recommending this method to others
